Beauty

(A Poem)

Man’s folly lies in trying to capture beauty

In a photograph, in a movie, in a sanctuary

In their failure to realize that beauty can’t be contained

...that it is naturally free and wild.

 
Keats once said that "a thing of beauty is a joy forever"

I used to disagree

Because of all the pain and sufferings that beauty can cause

Then I realized…

It’s not beauty that causes these

But man’s desire to keep beauty

Beauty can bring forever joy

Only if we accept that it’s not forever

Be happy that you had it for a time

Then let it go when it’s time to go

And just keep the moments of joy in your heart

…forever.
