I Survived My Sister's Wedding...

It's that time of the year again for weddings. Summer Wedding, June Brides, etc...etc... I can't help but recall my sister's wedding and how I survived it. I wrote the post below sometime after the wedding and posted it on my Facebook Notes. I just thought I should also share it here :)

Date. 09 December 2009. 13 days before I turn 30. And as they say, my clock is ticking…

Love Lost and Yet to be Found

(A Poem)

You say you still love me
Screaming my name in the night
I say I still love you
But I still remember how I screamed
Screamed in pain…in fright

Mama

(A Poem for my Mama)

She , whose hands are never out of chores
From which love continuously end endlessly pours
She, whose face is always wrinkled in a frown
But never fails to light up to a smile, I'm around

NeverWonderLand

(A Poem)

My name is Lady Olivine.
I live in a box.
A small box wrapped in pink,
with a cute little ribbon on it.
This box is rarely opened.
Once in a while, yes.
A peek and hello,
Then gone...

Sweet Love Gone Sour

(A Poem)

Love should be effortless
So natural, it need not be asked
But lately loving you
Had become a very heavy task

Learning to Unlove You

(A Poem)

I struggle every morning just to get out of my bed
Coz I stayed up late the previous night trying to get you out of my head
And the moment my mind awakes
Myriad thoughts and visions of you, it makes
I try to wash them off in the shower
But they get stronger and stronger by the hour
So I just fix my face with make up and put on a mask
And try my best to take on the day’s task

A Night and a Day in London

(A Poem)

This is my entry (as SheBlogger) in the past week Poetry Stuffage in Goodreads, for the topic "London Kiss".
The poll is still up and I don't think it's going to win. But I'm posting it here just the same, to share it with you... Hope you like it:)

One night in London, we lie awake

As if counting every breath we take
Staring into each other’s eyes
Silently saying what the heart cries

Beauty

(A Poem)

Man’s folly lies in trying to capture beauty
In a photograph, in a movie, in a sanctuary
In their failure to realize that beauty can’t be contained
...that it is naturally free and wild.
