Second Christmas Without You

(A Poem by a Lonesome Mistress)

Since Christmas is just around the corner, I thought to share this poem I wrote about  a lonesome mistress a long time ago...

Our second Christmas together
But again, together apart
And as it is, always
Only together in our hearts

I try to tell myself
Christmas is just a date
But when I see joy around
I can't help but hate

The miles between us
And the situation we're in
But it is the way it is
Though not what you mean

Just bear Christmas without you
And other Christmases to come
Because it will be far too long before
You could spend it with me at home
