Falling Out of Love

We all know what is falling in love or how it feels, at least most people do. But what about falling out of love? How do we know that we are falling out of love? What are the tell-tale signs, if there are any?

I once answered an "Are You Falling Out of Love Quiz". There were 20 questions answerable by Yes, No and Somewhat. The quiz briefly explains falling out of love before the questions:

"When a relationship ends people assume that it is easy on the person who ends things. It is as if the person who does the breaking up, or who is thinking of breaking things off, is a person with no feelings, but nothing could be further from the truth. Sometimes people break off a relationship without remorse but this is not the norm. Most of the time falling OUT of love is a painful and confusing process filled with doubt and guilt. In fact falling OUT of love can be a more emotional process than falling IN love. Are you falling out of love or are you just going through a rocky patch? Take our "Are you falling OUT of love?" quiz to find out."

How true... Breaking up with someone you have loved, especially for a long time, is very difficult. I should know. I have done it a few times. And each time was very painful. In my most recent confusion and doubt in a relationship, I answered the quiz and got the following score and assessment:

"Your score is 40. Whether or not you are falling out of love is hard to tell. While your feelings are mixed up you still seem to have hope that the love is there. Wait it out a bit - time heals all wounds and answers all questions."

I must say the assessment was pretty accurate. The love was there but it was mixed with confusion of wants, needs, expectations and fear for the future.

It can really be very confusing and scary but the best person to answer all your questions is you. After all, it's your life and happiness at stake.
